IC Information
Character Name: Antonio Fernández Carriedo - Spain
Character Canon: Hetalia
Character Age/Gender: Physically he appears to be 25. He is actually much older than that./Male
Canon Point: I'm taking Spain from his "modern day" era. That is, no conquistador or Boss Spain here, as badass as he is.
Character Canon History: WIKI LINK.
Character Personality: Generally a positive and optimistic guy, Spain's smiling nature shines just as brightly as the sun. It's more likely that he'll look on the positive side of things or meet a situation cheerfully and with a laugh despite an obviously half empty glass. He wears his heart on his sleeve like a proud badge of emotional security and is unafraid to show his feelings at all. If Spain is happy, he sparkles and shines, bestowing smiles and spreading his good mood. However, if he's sad, he cries, whines and is generally just unpleasant and annoying. If he loves someone, copious hugs, unintentionally inappropriate touches and marriage proposals are not below him! He also has a softspot for children, small animals and anything he may deem cute, unashamed to gush about the sheer adorableness of something. In fact, it could be said that while Spain is a very proud person, his behavior is something he rarely puts any concern in.
On top of his warm demeanor, he is also very thickheaded and oblivious. It is very easy to run circles about him and he can appear very naive, mostly because he is completely unable to read any situation. (However, whether that is because he actually can't or whether he just doesn't try is a mystery in and of itself.) It would not be uncommon for Spain to mistake someone's feelings and say something completely inappropriate during the situation. He's not the brightest bulb in the shed and things may need to be spelled out for him from time to time. He is quite easy to take advantage of and has been several times. The oblivious thickheadedness he so often exhibits would sooner be his downfall than engaging him in a battle to the death. There have been times when a conflict is clear and obvious but Spain will enter with a smile, unable to effectively tell what is going on.
Despite all of this, Spain has been known to be two-faced and kind of a jerk sometimes. The once mighty conquistador may treat some people nicely and even with an unwaveringly strong loyalty and honor, but he has been known to turn around and not show that same sort of kindness to others. He holds grudges like a cup holds water and will not hesitate to show aggression or hostility to those he is not overly fond of. Back in his youthful, powerful and rebellious prime, Spain was a greedy conquistador, looking for gold, wealth, land and, of course, easier trade routes. (Though, what young man doesn't go through a time in their lives when they think they are invincible and incredibly manly?) Even back then, however, he seemed to have a smiling aura around him despite a conquering hunger and a somewhat callous regard for those he felt he was better than. Unfortunately, his reign did not last forever and he came to an eventual brutal fall, "humbling" him somewhat and allowing his current personality to become more apparent. That being said, most of his negative feelings toward others can be linked to the past.
Spain is also an incredibly lazy individual. A three hour daily nap is an absolute minimum.
Character Abilities: Spain's most powerful ability is his Cheer-Up Charm, a sparkling hug and acreepy laugh that has the power to bring anyone out of a bad mood! (Unfortunately, it hasn't worked yet.) He also has the ability to harvest delicious tomatoes, laugh at inappropriate times, sleep for nearly an entire day and stalk small children.
His former abilities include wielding a large halberd and may also involve commanding troops efficiently, sailing ships, navigation and other necessary skills that a mighty nation needs to take over the world.
As a country, he has a few extra non-human abilities such as being semi-immortal. He doesn't age the same way humans do and his well-being, health and age are almost directly correlated with how his culture, people and economy are doing.
He also speaks Spanish.
Character Inventory: He's probably coming empty handed, unfortunately. Besides maybe the clothing on his back.
Samples: DEAR MUN POST.
Third person:
It wasn't as if Spain didn't like being plucked from everything that he loved and found familiar only to be placed in a new home that further fueled his touchy-feely nature and desire for creepily extended hugs. In fact, this specific day was a particularly awesome spring day and days like this (preferably warmer, he noted) were perfect! However, his gauge for being lost and confused could only take so much on a normal day, putting him where everything is new and unsure was a recipe for some less-than-delicious fun.
He decided to go for a walk to scope the area out and at least try to see what the place had to offer, unfortunately, no matter how much he enjoyed a glorious spring walk, Spain was cursed and destined to forever be the laziest person in the entire world. So even though he had the best intentions to survey, scope, conquer and report back, the sun was just too warm and nurturing and his journey was cut short by the overwhelming urge to take a pleasant nap. Spain approached a wall and though everyone knew that that most walls existed for the purpose of keeping people either in or out, he decided that he was above the rules and that it would be just fine and peachy keen for him to cut through. It would be quick, he justified to himself, and no one would even notice. However, first he would have to scale that stone wall and he declared that it would be no problem for El Jefe!
Using his momentum from a short running start, he took one hop to the top of the wall and stood there. LIKE A BOSS.
...like a boss...who was falling? In what seemed like a second that lasted forever, a rock dislodged itself from its cement prison and came toppling over. Spain fell to the ground, far enough from the wall and the rebellious rock to avoid injury. For a moment he scrutinized what was left of the wall and decided that the damage was not enough for anyone to notice. He stood up and began dusting his pants off when he heard some more crumbling in front of him.
Spain watched and winced as the wall continued to crumble, first creating a large hole where he had been standing and then collapsing in on itself further down the way. With every rock that fell and hit another part of the wall, a new part imploded in on itself until Spain was faced with an entire pathetic wall of fallen rocks and crumbled cement.
Saeng Seong wasn't going to like this. He began to think about the potential for being placed in a No Hugging Room but then something more important came to mind and Spain vowed to lay off the churros for the foreseeable future.
